B) RECOGNIZE MR. FRED KRUG FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE AS A <br /> BATESVILLE COUNCILMEMBER <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh presented Mr. Fred Krug with a plaque for his nearly 10 years <br /> of service on the Batesville City Council. Mr. Krug recently moved out of his <br /> Ward. The Mayor highlighted several accomplishments made during Mr. Krug's <br /> tenure on the council. Mr. Krug spoke briefly and thanked his fellow Councilmen <br /> and others within the City. He also thanked his wife and children for their <br /> support. <br /> C) ENGINEER'S REPORT <br /> City Engineer Damon Johnson addressed the council with his Engineer's Report. <br /> Mr. Johnson said workers are installing the last of the radio read water meters to <br /> complete the upgrade. He said there was not much to report on the other <br /> departments from the last meeting. The $300,000 Street Aid project is almost <br /> complete with only the striping remaining. Mr. Johnson said there is a problem <br /> with littering along Riverbank Road leading down to the Wastewater Treatment <br /> Plant. He asked the media to help educate the public regarding litter and <br /> dumping of trash. Mr. Johnson said if the problem continues, tickets will be <br /> issued. <br /> D) EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Councilmember Bryant moved to go into executive session. Councilmember <br /> Hubbard seconded and all voted for. <br /> Upon returning from executive session, Mayor Elumbaugh said he received four <br /> applications for the vacant council position in Ward 3, position 1.
