RESOLUTION NO. 94-7-1 <br /> HEALTH CARE REFORM <br /> WHEREAS, President Clinton and the U.S. Congress are considering major <br /> Health Care Reform, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the Arkansas Municipal League's Health Benefit Fund has provided <br /> municipal officials and employees broad coverage and stable rates through a <br /> self-funded pool arrangement since 1981, and; <br /> WHEREAS, pooling and self-funding may not be authorized under some of <br /> the health care proposals. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF BATESVILLE. ARKANSAS: <br /> That we urge the President and Arkansas' Congressional delegation to seek <br /> to preserve self-funding and pooling as options for municipalities in providing <br /> medical coverage for their officials and employees. <br /> Further, we urge our Congressional delegation to oppose any programs which <br /> do not retain these alternatives for municipalities. <br /> APPROVED: <br /> �l <br /> Jim Barn t, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Denise M.
