MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> JULY 6, 2015 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in special session on July 6t" at 5:00 P.M. in the <br /> Municipal Building. Mayor Rick Elumbaugh called the meeting to order. Upon roll call, <br /> the following councilmembers answered present; Chris Beller, Tommy Bryant, Sonya <br /> Crafton, Margarett Henley, Paige Hubbard, Doug Matthews, Chris Poole and David <br /> Shetron. The City Clerk Denise Johnston was also present. <br /> Councilmember Bryant moved to approve the prepared agenda and <br /> Councilmember Henley seconded. All voted for. <br /> SPECIAL MEETING BUSINESS <br /> A) CONSIDER THE RESIGNATION AND APPOINTMENT FOR THE BATESVILLE <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh asked Mr. Lindsey Castleberry to come forward to address the <br /> council. Mr. Castleberry told the council that he had given the Mayor a letter of <br /> resignation effective July 2, 2015. He said he was grateful for the time he was <br /> City Attorney and enjoyed working with the Mayor, Council and City Clerk. He <br /> also said he was thankful to the citizens of Batesville who elected him to serve as <br /> Batesville's City Attorney and hopes that he served them well. Mr. Castleberry <br /> said he has accepted a job as an in-house attorney for White River Medical <br /> Center. Mr. Castleberry told the council they have the authority to appoint a new <br /> City Attorney according to ACA §14-43-412. The appointee must have a license <br /> to practice law in the State of Arkansas and reside within the city limits of <br /> Batesville. Mayor Elumbaugh thanked Mr. Castleberry for his service to the city <br />
