The Mayor asked to change the next scheduled council meeting from January <br /> 28th to Monday the 27th. Councilmember Bryant so moved and Councilmember Henley <br /> seconded. All voted for. <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh gave his condolences and asked for prayers for the Shirrell <br /> family. Former Batesville Mayor Jim Shirrell passed away on January 2nd <br /> The Mayor offered his congratulations to former Batesville resident and Pioneer <br /> football player Charles Strong for his recent acceptance as the head football coach for <br /> the University of Texas Longhorns. The Mayor said it is awesome to see a man who <br /> had a good mother but not great living conditions rise above his circumstances and <br /> have a very successful career. <br /> LIAISON REPORTS <br /> Councilmember Bryant said the rental agreements for the proposed new hangers <br /> at the airport have been worked out and they are ready to proceed with the <br /> construction. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilmember Krug said he would like to see some kind of a sign erected <br /> honoring Charles Strong and touting the fact that Batesville is his home town. All the <br /> council seemed to be in agreement. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business, Councilmember Insell moved that the meeting <br /> be adjourned.
