B) CONSIDER A TAX BACK RESOLUTION FOR PECO FOODS OF ARKANSAS <br /> Councilmember Shetron introduced a resolution certifying the endorsement of <br /> Peco Foods to participate in the Tax Back Program. Mr. Castleberry read the <br /> resolution in full. Councilmember Matthews moved to adopt the resolution and <br /> Councilmember Bryant seconded. The roll call was 8 for and 0 against. The <br /> resolution was given #2012-6-01-R <br /> C) HEAR A PARKS AND RECREATION UPDATE FROM JEFF OWENS, PARK <br /> DIRECTOR <br /> Jeff addressed the council with an overview of the sports programs and financials <br /> over the past year. With some reorganization and new approaches to <br /> advertising, most of the sports programs have grown in size by a considerable <br /> amount. On the financial side, revenues are up 104% for the first 5 months of <br /> 2012 as compared to the first 5 months of 2011. <br /> D) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION TO OBTAIN A 50/50 MATCHING GRANT FROM <br /> THE ARKANSAS DEPT OF PARKS AND TOURISM'S OUTDOOR RECREATION <br /> GRANT PROGRAM <br /> Councilmember Bryant introduced a resolution authorizing the Mayor to submit <br /> an application for a 50/50 matching grant to the Arkansas Department of Parks <br /> and Tourism. Mr. Castleberry read the resolution in full. The grant is for <br /> assistance to develop outdoor recreational facilities in the parks. Councilmember <br /> Bryant moved to adopt the resolution and Councilmember Insell seconded. The <br /> roll call was 8 for and 0 against. The resolution was given #2012-6-02-R. <br />
