MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> JULY 7, 2011 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in special session on July 7, at 5:15 PM at the <br /> Municipal Building. Mayor Elumbaugh called the meeting to order. Councilmembers <br /> present were; Tommy Bryant, Margarett Henley, Paige Hubbard, Davy Insell, Fred <br /> Krug, and Douglas Matthews. Also present were the City Clerk and the City Attorney. <br /> Councilmembers David Shetron and Chris Poole were absent. <br /> SPECIAL BUSINESS <br /> A) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION TO AWARD THE CONTRACT FOR PHASE 2 OF <br /> THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IMPROVEMENTS <br /> Councilmember Bryant introduced a resolution to award the contract for phase 2 <br /> of the Wastewater Treatment Plant improvements. Mr. Castleberry read the <br /> resolution in full. After a discussion, Councilmember Matthews moved to adopt <br /> the resolution and Councilmember Insell seconded. The vote was 6 for and 0 <br /> against. The resolution was given #2011-07-01-R. <br /> B) CONSIDER THE PURCHASE OR REPLACEMENT OF 2 RESIDENTIAL <br /> SANITATION TRUCKS <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh said the lease of two residential sanitation trucks were up this <br /> month and he said Sanitation Supervisor Marty Thompson thought it was the <br /> council's wish to purchase the trucks instead of turning them in for new ones. <br /> Ms. Johnston said the purchase price is $67,912.50 per truck for a total of <br /> $135,825.00. She said the budget reflected continuing on with the lease <br /> program and not purchasing so it is not budgeted for. After a discussion, the <br />
