B) CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH A SUPPLEMENTAL TAX ON <br /> ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES <br /> Councilmember Insell introduced an ordinance that would establish a 5% tax on <br /> all alcoholic beverages including beer and wine sold within the City limits of <br /> Batesville. Mr. Castleberry read the ordinance in full. After a brief discussion, <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh said the ordinance will be placed on the next meeting's <br /> agenda for the second reading. <br /> C) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION TO DEDICATE THE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES <br /> TAX TO BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF PUBLIC SAFETY <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh said this resolution would not be acted upon unless the <br /> alcohol tax is approved. If the ordinance to establish an alcohol tax is approved, <br /> this proposed resolution will be considered at that time. <br /> D) ENGINEER'S REPORT <br /> City Engineer Damon Johnson addressed the Council with his engineer's report. <br /> Mr. Johnson brought the council up to date on various activities going on in the <br /> City. <br /> E) REVIEW SEPTEMBER 2011 FINANCIALS <br /> The council was given a copy of the September 2011 Financials. The Mayor <br /> mentioned that he has set a budget meeting for November 22nd after the <br /> scheduled council meeting. <br /> F) REVIEW OF PAID BILLS REPORT <br /> The Council was given a copy of the October, 2011 paid bills report for review. <br /> MAYOR COMMENTS <br />
