The ordinance was given # 2011-6-2. Councilmember <br /> Matthews moved to adopt the emergency clause and Councilmember Bryant <br /> seconded. The roll call count was 7 for and 0 against. <br /> C) MR. JACK KREPPS REGARDING THE "MARY WOODS NO. 2" <br /> STEAMBOAT <br /> Mr. Jack Krepps addressed the council to request a place to park the Mary <br /> Woods No.2 Paddle Steamboat. The State was about to cut the boat up and <br /> sell it for scrap and Mr. Krepps purchased it in hopes of restoring it and <br /> saving it for its historic value. The Mary Woods No. 2 was the last paddle <br /> steamboat to run on the White River. Mr. Krepps said he wants to restore <br /> the boat and dry dock it at Kennedy Park. The boat would be a tourist <br /> attraction with hands-on activities for kids. He said he planned for it to be a <br /> non-profit venture with no admission fee. He would sell concession for <br /> income to pay for utilities, insurance and other expenses. Mr. Krepps said <br /> the restoration cost could be around a million dollars which he plans to raise <br /> through fundraisers and corporate support. The Arkansas Department of <br /> Parks and Tourism has given him 30 days to remove the boat from the <br /> Jacksonport State Park. The council asked Mr. Krepps several questions <br /> and expressed the concerns about how he would get the boat to the <br /> proposed location, the time it would take to restore and the fact that the place <br />
