Mr. Johnson told the council that the walking trail on 20th street <br /> is almost ready to be paved and should be done by the end of the year. <br /> He also said that Miller Newell engineers had visited with the city departments <br /> about site plans for a new central location for a new city shop and should be <br /> reviewing plans in a week or so. <br /> E) REVIEW AUGUST 2010 FINANCIALS <br /> The council was given a copy of the August 2010 for review. <br /> MAYOR COMMENTS <br /> The Mayor told the council that the Winter Municipal League conference will be <br /> January 12-14, 2011 in Little Rock. The Mayor said there would be another workshop <br /> on October 6, 2010 for an ongoing continuing education credit for the council that were <br /> interested in attending. The Mayor told the council that the Arkansas Department of <br /> Health had been awarded a $610,000 grant and had asked the City of Batesville to act <br /> as the fiscal agent to administer these grant monies. The City would be paying the bills <br /> and file for reimbursement from the State. Councilmember Henley made a motion for <br /> the City to act as the fiscal agent and Councilmember Insell seconded. All vote in favor. <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh said the U.S. Postal Service will be conducting a feasibility study at <br /> the Batesville office. Some of the operations could be moved to Jonesboro, but did not <br /> mean that the Batesville office would be closed. <br /> LIAISON REPORTS <br /> NONE <br /> COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />
