SPECIAL MEETING
NOVEMBER 29, 2004
The Batesville City Council met for a special meeting on November 29, at 5:30
PM at the Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting.
Councilmember Cargill gave the invocation. Upon roll call the following
Councilmembers answered present: Jim Cargill, R.L. Carpenter, Robert Ford, Gerald
Gaither, Jim Mitchum, Jerry Pectol, and Paula Terrell. City Clerk Denise Johnston was
also present. Councilmember Watkins and City Attorney Scott Stalker were absent.
Councilmember Ford moved to approve the prepared agenda as amended.
Councilmember Terrell seconded and all voted for.
CONSIDER 2005 BUDGET
The council considered the proposed 2005 budget. Councilmember Ford moved
to increase the Chamber of Commerce to $9,000.00 (plus $600.00 for the Batesville
Pageant Association) and Councilmember Cargill seconded. All voted for. After a
lengthy discussion, the council decided to wait until the December 14th meeting to adopt.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Councilmember Mitchum moved to go into executive session. Councilmember
Ford seconded and all voted for.
Upon returning from executive session, no action was taken.
There being no further business, Councilmember Gaither moved that the meeting
be adjourned. Councilmember Cargill seconded and all voted for.
