ORDINANCE NO. 2015-0y-_a <br /> AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND <br /> AUTHORIZE THE BATESVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO <br /> CONTRACT FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Batesville is continuing the process of creation of <br /> its Police Department; <br /> WHEREAS, the Batesville Police Department requires various information <br /> technology services and supplies including hardware, software, and installation <br /> services for a secure network: <br /> WHEREAS, the reliable operation of law enforcement information <br /> technology is vital to public safety; <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary for the public health, safety and welfare to <br /> contract for the purchase and installation of information technology assets for the <br /> Police Department as soon as possible; <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Batesville currently contracts with Ozark <br /> Information Systems, Inc. for its information technology services, and that <br /> company is familiar with the compatibility requirements necessary for expeditious <br /> and efficient set up of the Police Department's system; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Batesville Police Department, through Chief of Police <br /> Alan Cockrill, recommends the matter be referred to the full Council for approval. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS: <br /> Section 1. That it is necessary for the Batesville Police Department to <br /> immediately contract for installation and set up of its information technology <br /> system. <br /> Section 2. That Ozark Information Systems, Inc., as the current information <br /> technology provider for the City of Batesville, is familiar with current City systems <br /> and is in a unique position to implement and design a compatible system in the <br /> abbreviated time frame. <br /> Section 3. That said information technology contract will be in the amount <br /> of approximately $43,460.40 more or less, based on the current estimate. <br />
