CITY OF BATESVILLE
RESOLUTION NUMBER <34 -5 -
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development is authorized
to make Urban Development Action Grants to small cities under Section
119 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Batesville has been determined eligible in
accordance with eligibility requirements to apply for the Urban Development
Action Grant program; and
WHEREAS, the city has conducted the necessary public hearings
requesting citizen participation; and
WHEREAS, the city has established economic development goals to
expand employment opportunities at existing industries and to attract
new businesses/industries which maintain a stable, year-round skilled
workforce.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Batesville, Arkansas ,
that the Mayor is authorized to file an application with the Department
of Housing and Urban Development for an Urban Development Action Grant
in the amount no greater than two million dollars, and to represent
the city in all matters related to the Urban Development Action Grant
Program.
