RESOLUTION NUMBER
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development is
authorized to make Urban Development Action Grants to small cities
under Section 119 of the Housing and Community Development Act of
1974, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Batesville, Arkansas authorized
the Mayor by Resolution Number 84-5-5, to file for an application
with the Department of Housing and Urban Development and to represent
the City in all matters related to the Urban Development Action Grant
program; and
WHEREAS, the City has established economic development goals
which are addressed by an industrial plant expansion project, and
that said project would not go forward but for the assistance provided
• through the Urban Development Action Grant program.
WHEREAS, Resolution Number 84-5-5 restricted the Urban Development
Action Grant in the amount no greater than two million dollars ;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Batesville,
Arkansas , to increase the amount of Urban Development Action Grant
assistance requested with no restriction;
THEREFORE, BE IT REAFFIRMED, by the City Council of Batesville,
Arkansas, that the Mayor is authorized to file an Urban Development
Action Grant for an industrial plant expansion, on behalf of Banquet
Foods Corporation, and to represent the City in all matters pertaining
to the Urban Development Action Grant program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon favorable action of the Urban
Development Action Grant application, the City of Batesville will
proceed to administer the grant and to implement the provisions of
the grant by fulfilling the requirements of the U. S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development in respect thereto, and to gain benefits
of this project for the City of Batesvjlle.
