CITY OF BATESVILLE
RESOLUTION NUMBER `3L]- '7- Z
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE MAIN STREET PROGRAM AND DESIGNATING
A CITY REPRESENTATIVE TO COORDINATE ALL PROGRAM ACTIVITIES.
WHEREAS, the Arkansas Main street program has been created to assist small cities
to develop a public-private effort to revitalize their downtown area, and five
Arkansas cities will be selected to participate in the project in 1984.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE,
ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. That the City of Batesville apply for selection to participate in the
1984 Arkansas Main Street program with the specific goal of economic revitalization
of the central business district within the context of the preservation and
rehabilitation of its historic buildings.
SECTION 2. That the City of Batesville provide financial support for a Main Street
project.
SECTION 3. That the City will appoint an official representative to coordinate
activities with the Main Street project manager.
