( ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE SUBMITTING TO THE VOTERS OF THE I CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS AND OTHER AFFECTED PERSONS, THE QUESTIONS OF ANNEXATION TO SAID CITY OF BATESVILLE CERTAIN CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY. WHEREAS, it appears to the Council of the City of Batesville, Arkansas, that certain hereinafter described territory contiguous to the said City of Batesville is necessary for the orderly growth of said City; and WHEREAS, the lands furnish\the abode for a densely settled community or represent the actual growth of the municipality beyond its legal boundary; and WHEREAS, the lands are needed for proper municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, the lands are valuable by reason of their adaptability for prospective municipal uses, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS: Section1. That there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the City of Batesville and of the following described area: Commence at the point where the north line of Section 18, Township 13 North, Range 5 West is intersected by the West R/W line of Hwy #233; thence North with West R/W line of Hwy #233 to its intersection with the North R/W line of Hwy #25, said point being on the East line of W'/z of NW'/4 of Section 7, Township 13 North, Range 5 West; thence north along the East line of W'/2 of W'/2 of Section 7, Township 13 North, Range 5 West, the East line of W'/2 of W'/2 of Section 6, Township 13 North, Range 5 West, the East line of W'/2 of W'/2 of Sections 19, 30 and 31 in Township 14 North, Range 5 West to the NE corner of the NW'/4 of NW'/4 of Section 19, Township 14 North, Range 5 West; thence West along North line of NW'/4 of NW'/4 of Section 19, Township 14 North, Range 5 West, and continue West along North line of Sections 22, 23 and 24 in Township 14 North, Range 6 West to the NW corner of the NE'/4 of NE'/4 of Section 22, Township 14 North, Range 6 West; thence South along the West line of the E'/2 of E'/2 of Sections 22, 27 and 34 in Township 14 North, Range 6 West to the SW corner of the SE'/4 SEY4 of Section 34, Township 14 North, Range 6 West; thence West along the Township line between Township 13 North, and Township 14 North in Range 6 West to the NW corner of Section 5 Township 13 North, Range 6 West; thence South with West line of Sections 5 and 8, township -13 North, Range 6 West to the SW corner of said Section 8; thence West on North line of Section 18, Township 13 North, Range 6 West to Dry Run Creek and the present West City Limits of Batesville; thence South along Dry Run Creek and said present West City Limits to North side of ID ( Missouri Pacific Railroad; thence Easterly with North side of said Railroad to the East side of Poke Bayou; thence Southerly and Easterly with Poke Bayou to its intersection with North side of White River; thence Easterly with North side of White River to its intersection with West line of E'/2 of E'/2 of Section 25, Township 13 North, Range 6 West; thence North with West line of said E'/2 of E'/2 to the SW corner of NE'/4NE'/4 of said Section 25; thence East with
