AN ORDINANCE BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS, AND
MAKING SAME A PART OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS,
AND ASSIGNING SAME TO WARDS
WHEREAS,Petition was filed with the County Clerk of Independence County, Arkansas,
by the sole owner of the hereinafter described territory praying that said territory be annexed to,and
made a part of the City of Batesville, Arkansas; and,
WHEREAS, on the 9th day of July, 2001, the county Court of Independence County,
Arkansas, found that the petition was signed by the owner of said territory; that said territory was
contiguous and adjoining the present corporate limits of the City of Batesville, Arkansas; that an
accurate plat or map of said territory had been filed with and made a part of said petition;that proper
notice had been given for the time and in the manner prescribed by law,and that all things pertaining
thereto had been done in the manner prescribed by law, and that said lands and territory should be
annexed to and made a part of the City of Batesville, Arkansas, subject to the acceptance of same
by the City Council of said City at the proper time, as provided by law, and,
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory contiguous to and adjoining the City
of Batesville, Arkansas, be and the same is hereby accepted as part of and annexed to and made a

• A tract of land being a part of Section 2 and a part of Section 3 all in T 13 N,
R 6 W in Independence County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows:
beginning at a point on the north right of way line of White Drive said point being
49.92 feet north and 20.02 feet west of the southeast corner of said Section 3;thence
N 89 degrees 56' 01" W along said north right of way line, 852.13 feet to the
centerline of Pfeiffer Creek;thence along said centerline the following:N 06 degrees
12' 03" W 226.00 feet; N 19 degrees 52' 46" E 136.22 feet;N 32 degrees 18' 43" E
125.14 feet;N 19 degrees 12'04" E 426.55 feet;N 19 degrees 15'42" W 201.25 feet;
N 19 degrees 13'05" E 193.33 feet;thence N 88 degrees 57'32" E 882.99 feet to the
extension of a wire fence; thence S 02 degrees 31' 15" W along said extension and
along said fence, 731.90 feet; thence S 89 degrees 41' 48" W 210.39 feet; thence S
O1 degrees 35' 55" W 518.83 feet to the point of beginning. Containing 25.14 acres,
more or less, subject to any and all easements.
SECTION 2. That the above described territory shall be annexed to and made a part of
Ward 2 of the City of Batesville, and the same shall henceforth be a part of said Ward as fully as
existing parts of said Ward.
