ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE CITY OF BATESVILLE EMPLOYEE
HANDBOOK FOR THE CITY OF BATESVILLE; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City of Batesville had findings in its 1999 annual audit
regarding inadequate policies and procedures in several areas in the City's
Personnel Policy; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to comply with recommendations made by
the City's auditors; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that the adoption of the
said policy is in the best interest of the employees of the City of Batesville and its
citizens.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR
THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City of Batesville Employee Handbook which was first
presented before the city council on April 24, 2001 and then amended on
October 23, 2001 is hereby adopted.
EMERGENCY CLAUSE: The City of Batesville Employee Handbook
affects the employees of the city departments, who in turn contribute to the safety
and welfare of the residents of Batesville, Arkansas; therefore an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage.
