ORDINANCE NO. _ - 2- <br /> AN <br /> 2- <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION TWO OF ORDINANCE NO. 983 AND <br /> A-MENDING SECTION 3. 04. 05, PARAGRAPH TWO OF THE BATESVILLE <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE, INCREASING FROM $2 ,000 . 00 TO $5, 000. 00 THE <br /> MAXIMUM VALUE OF MUNICIPAL SUPPLIES , .MATERIALS OR EQUIPMENT <br /> WHICH MAY BE SOLD OR EXCHANGED BY THE MAYOR WITHOUT COMPETITIVE <br /> BIDDING; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR 01THER PURPOSES: <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, <br /> ARKANSAS: <br /> Section 1: That section 2 of Ordinance No. 983 and Paragraph <br /> 2 of Section 3. 04 . 05 of the Batesville Municipal Code, are <br /> hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 2. That the Mayor or his duly authorized repre- <br /> sentative may sell or exchange any municipal <br /> supplies, materials or equipment without competitive <br /> bidding so long as the value of said municipal <br /> supplies, materials or equipment to be sold o <br /> exchanged or item or lot to be disposed of as one <br /> unit of supplies, materials or equipment does not <br /> exceed the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5 ,000 . 00) . <br /> • Section 2: That no other portion of the above said ordinance and <br /> code shall be changed other than the change noted above. All <br /> other portions of that ordinance and code shall remain in full <br /> force and effect and unchanged. <br /> Section 3: EMERGENCY CLAUSE: The City Council finds that the <br /> changes made by this ordinance are necessar-y due to inflation <br /> and the need to allow the Mayor or his authorized agent to <br /> operate the City on a day by day basis without undue and <br /> unnecessary council approval of sales less than the amount <br /> specified and finds that this ordinance is necessary for the <br /> protection of the city' s economic well being and the public 's <br /> health, safety and welfare and an emergency is hereby declared <br /> to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect <br /> from and after the date of ��its passage. <br /> Passed and adopted this 16k <br /> day of K , 1984 . <br /> APPROVED: <br /> Hong Jim Shirrell, Ma�,7 "r <br /> ATTEST: <br /> �j <br /> Larry Williams, City Clerk <br />
