AN ORDINANCE ASSIGNING CERTAIN PROPERTY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF
BATESVILLE BY RESOLUTION NO. 84-11-1 TO WARD 4 OF THE CITY OF
BATESVILLE , AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES :
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE ,
ARKANSAS AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION 1 : That by Resolution No. 84-11-1 the Batesville City
Council annexed certain land located in Section 14 , Section 15 ,
Section 23 and Section 26 all in Township 13 North, Range 6 West,
Independence County, Arkansas and said annexed territory shall be
a part of Ward 4 of the City of Batesville, Arkansas. That said
lands annexed to Ward 4 and to the City of Batesville, Arkansas
is more fully and particularly descr=bed in Resolution No. 84-11-1
a copy of which is attached hereto, marked EXHIBIT "A" and made a
part hereof as though fully set out herein word for word.
SECTION 2 : That the City Council has determined that said land
should become a part of Ward 4 due to the fact that it is adjacent
to said :yard 4 and due to the fact that the annexed land is
located in the political township of Moorefield.

A RESOLUTION ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF
BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS , CERTAIN LAND BEING
PARTS OF SECTION 14, SECTION 15, SECTION 23 'ND
SECTION 26, IN TOWNSHIP 13 NORTH, RANGE 6 :VEST
WHEREAS, on September 5, 1984, a Petition was filed in
the County Court of Independence County, Arkansas , by the owner
of the land described herein, seeking annexation of said land to
the City of Batesville, Arkansas ; and i

WHEREAS, pursuant to notice and in accordance with the
laws of the State of Arkansas, a public hearing was held on the
• Petition for the annexation of said lands ; and
WHEREAS, on October 11, 1984, the County Court of j
Independence County, Arkansas, after a public hearing, entered its !
Order annexing said land to the City of Batesvile ; ._,,d
WHEREAS, that more than thirty ( 30 ) da,,s res expired
from October 11, 1984, and no ,suit or remonstrance having been

1 filed objecting to the annexation of said lands , the County Court
I of Independence County, Arkansas, entered its Order of Confirmation
i
of said annexation, subject to acceptance of the property by the
City Council for the City of Batesville, Arkansas ; and
j WHEREAS, it appears that said land is contiguous to the
City of Batesville, Arkansas, and should be annexed to the City
of Batesville , Arkansas.

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council for the E
! City of Batesville, Arkansas , that the following land should be ,
and hereby is, annexed to the City of Batesville, Arkansas :
A tract of land being a part of Section. 14 ,
f Section 15, Section 23 and Section 26 in
Township 13 North, Range 6 West of the 5th
Principal Meridian, Independence County,
Arkansas, more particularly described as
follows :
Beginning at the corner to Sections 14, 15 ,
22 and 23 of said Township 13 North, Range
6 West ; thence run South along the West
line of said Section 23 to a point that is
775 feet North of the Southwest Corner of j
