ORDINANCE NO. S'5_5 _ 1
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE KEEPING OF GOATS AND/OR SHEEP WITHIN THE CITY
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIO-
LATIONS THEREOF; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: It shall be unlawful for any person to keep, maintain or permit
within any residential area within the corporate limits of the City of Bates-
ville, Arkansas , any goat or sheep except where such goat or sheep are main-
tained on an enclosed pasture containing one-half acre for each animal .
SECTION 2: It shall be the duty of the animal control officer to enforce the
provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall not repeal or otherwise affect any existing
ordinance prohibiting or regulating docs , swine or other animals now in force
and effect.
SECTION 4: Any person violating this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
violation and shall be fined in an amount not to exceed $100.00. Each day a
violation of this ordinance is allowed to exist shall constitute a separate
offense.
® SECTION 5: That if any part or parts of this ordinance should be declared
unconstitutional or otherwise unlawful by any Court of competent jurisdiction,
then that part or parts of this ordinance shall be deemed to have been severed
from this ordinance and the remaining portions thereof shall remain in full
force and effect as if the part or parts of the ordinance so declared uncon-
stitutional or unlawful were never/ a part thereof.
