ORDINANCE #
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE # 818 AND THEREBY PROVIDING FOR
TWO-WAY TRAFFIC UPON FOURTH STREET AND FIFTH STREET; DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE
ARKANSAS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : That ordinance #818 is hereby amended to provide as
follows :
1 . . .
D. Fourth Street: Shall be a two-way street.
E. Fifth Street: Shall be a two-way street.
Section 2 : All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3 : That if any part or parts of this Ordinance is/are
declared unlawful by any Court of competent jurisdiction
then that part or parts shall be stricken from this Ordinance
as though said unlawful part was never a part hereof .
Section 4 : That no other portion of Ordinance #818 shall be
• repealed, amended of effected in any way whatsoever and all
other portions of said Ordinance #818 shall remain in full force
and effect.
Section 5 : EMERGENCY CLAUSE: Whereas the Batesville City Counci
has determined that traffic conditions on Fourth Street and
Fifth Street and intersections thereof are congested and therefor
at times dangerous and unsafe and whereas increased traffic
flow and safety is needed in these areas and in order to create
safer streets this Ordinance is declared necessary for the safety ,
of the citizens of the City of Batesville, Arkansas and an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
