AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF MCGUIRE STREET IN THE CITY
OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS, TO BUCKEYE STREET, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Batesville has the
authority to name streets located within the city limits under
the provisions of Section 9 . 32 .01 of the Batesville Municipal
Code; and
WHEREAS, there currently exists in the City of Batesville a
currently platted, but unused street known as McGuire Street; and
WHEREAS , there is a street outside the city limits of
Batesville, but in Independence County known as McGuire Street,
which has created much confusion and poses great inconvenience to
the citizens of the City of Batesville; and
WHEREAS , it is in the best interest of the citizens of
Batesville that the street currently known as McGuire Street in
the City of Batesville be changed to Buckeye Street and known as
such henceforth.
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED AND RESOLVED that the street
currently known as McGuire Street in the City of Batesville,
Arkansas, shall hereby and henceforth be known as Buckeye Street
in the City of Batesville, Arkansas, and the Clerk should be and
hereby is directed to note this change on the official street map
of the City of Batesville.
