aAN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF BETHESDA ROAD IN THE CITY
LIMITS OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS , TO ROSS STREET, AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Batesville has the
authority to name streets under the provisions of Section 9.32.01
of the Batesville Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, there currently exists in the City of Batesville a
platted and used street known as Bethesda Road, said road being a
Westerly extension of Ross Street as shown on the official street
map of the City of Batesville; and
WHEREAS, there has been much confusion created regarding the
extension of Ross Street being known by another name inside the
city limits; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the residents of the
City of Batesville that the portion of what is currently known as
Bethesda Road inside the city limits of the City of Batesville
should be changed to Ross Street, in that it is a logical and
geographical extension thereof.
BE IT THEREFORE, ORDAINED AND RESOLVED that the street
inside the city limits of the City of Batesville heretofore known
as Bethesda Road shall be henceforth known as Ross Street from
the point that Ross Street currently commences inside the city
limits of Batesville, and shall continue as Ross Street to the
existing city limits.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk should be and hereby
is directed to note on the official street map of the City of
• Batesville the change of Bethesda Road to Ross Street.
