A RESOLUTION URGING THE UNITED STiITES POSTi�L SERVICE TO CONTINUE FULL WEEK-END
MAIL SERVICE AT THE BATESVILLE, ARIL-U621S POST OFFICE.
WHEREAS, the United. States Postal Service recently announced that its former
week-end mail service, including Post Office Box service, would be discon-
tinued and,
WHEREAS, the United States Postal Service did in fact discontinue its former
week-end mail service and,

facilities depend upon efficient and current mail service, it is a public
necessity that the Batesville Post Office provide full wee':-end service as
was provided until recently;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY 11HE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF B.4'=SVILLE,
:UYY.ANSAS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council of the City o' Batesville, rrk •.nsas strongly
urges the United. States Postal Service to reconsider its decision to dis-
continue full week-end postal services at the Batesville, Arkansas Post Office
Section 2: That the Batesville City Council supports the general public' s
interest and that of our businesses, industries, schools and other enterprises
in the restoration of full i%,eec-end service at tie Batesville Post O `ice.
Section 3: That this matter is a vital Concern to our economy and the piiblic
wellare and the City Council of the City of Batesville, cirkansas denounces the
decision to discontinue wee'.:-end Postal Services at the Batesville, . rkansas
