seconded theadoption of t e following Resolutions
Resolved, that there be voted and levied by the council rates of
taxation on the real and personal property located in the City of
Batesville, Arkansas, for the year 19580 payable in 1959, as followss
City General . . . . . 5 mills;
City Library . . . . 1 mill;
City Park & Swimming Pool Bonds . . . 22 mills.
Further Resolved that such action and levy beuly certified by the
Mayor, attested by the City Clerk, to the Quorum,,of Independence County,
Arkansas, and to the County Clerk of said County, to end that same may
be levied and extended on the tax books in accord with law in such cases made
and provided.
The question being put upon adoption of said Resolution, the roll was
called with the following results For Aldermen , etc.;
Against, None. The Mayor thereupon declared said eso ution my adopted and
signed same in approval thereof*

WHEREAS
There is now no official name,title or designation for the street,
route or drive leading from State Highway No. 11 to the Riverside Park,for-
merly known as the U S Reservation, and
WHEREAS CRAA;&I
The administration of Mayor S Harney initiated marked progress in
the construction and maintenance of streets and other civic improvements,in-
eluding the surfacing of the above named drive,
NM7,T?FEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUITCIL OF THE CITY OF BATES-
VILLE,
that,in order to avoid ambiguity and establish clarity in street
names and to honor a progressive civic leader, the street,route or drive
leading from State Highway No. 11, to Riverside Park or the old U S Reserva-
tion on the North or Left Dank of White River be and is hereby designated
