HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-09-01-R 6 1(w RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION SUBMITTING TO THE VOTERS THE QUESTION AS TO TMTBER CERTAIN CONTIGUOUS AhD ADJOINING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS, SHALT„ BE ANNEXED THERETU, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF M CITY OF BATESVIME, ARKANSAS s Section 1s That there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the City of Batesville, Arkansas, at the City General Election to be held on November 8, 19600 the question as to whether certain contiguous and adjoining territory shall be annexed to and become zz a part of said City, said territory being described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast corner of Block 60 of Maxfield's Third Eastern Addition to the City of Batesville, Arkansas, as platted in Book 118-3, page 544, of the Deed Records of Independence County, Arkansas; thence West along the South line of said Block 60 a distance of 150 ft., more or less, to the North or East line of State Ivy. 69; thence Southeasterly along and with said North or East line 2500 feet, more or less, to the line between the East Half and the 'Fest Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 15, Township 13 North, Range 6 West; thence North on said line 1600 feet, more or less, to the line between the northeast Quarter and the Southeast Quarter of said Section 15; thence East on said line 1348 feet to the Quarter Section corner between Sections 14 and 15; thence North on the line between the said Sections 14 and 15 a distance of 1650 feet, more or less, to the line of the Bluff; thence with line of the Bluff, Northeasterly, 300 feet, more or less,and Northwesterly 300 feet,more or less, to the Section Line aforesaid; thence North on said line and the line between Sections 10 and ll a distance of 1450 feet, Dore or less, to the South right-of-way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; thence westerly with said South right-of-way line across the Southeast Quarter and part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 10, Township 13 North, Range 6 West, to the East line of Highway 167; thence Southwesterly along the East and South line of said Highway 1800 feet, more or less, to the line between Sections 9 and 10; thence North along said line 350 feet, more or less, to the South right-ofway YJ.ne of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; thence Westerly along said line 1400 feet, more or less, to the line between the East Half and Yiest Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 9; thence South on said line 650 feet, more or less, to the East line of Highway 167; thence Southwesterly along said line 700 feet, more or less, to the extension of Main Street, being the present Corporate Limits; thence with the Present Corporatedn Limits in a generally Eastern direction, following the meanders of the Bluff to the line through the center of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 10, and thence continue Easterly and with the Bluff 963 feet, more or less, to a large stone on the edge of the Bluff marked "CL"; thence in a Southerly direction through the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 10 and the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 15 to the Northeast corner of Block 55 in Maxfield's Third Eastern Addition aforesaid; thence East along the North lines of Blocks 55, 56 and 63 a distance of 800 feet to the Northeast corner of Block 63; thence South along the East lines of Blocks 63, 62, 61 and 60 a distance of (w 1350 feet to the Southeast corner of Block 60, the rpointt of beginnings •-- c?` ',.>, Section 2.
