Now on this day there comes on for consideration the matter of re-
imbursement of the costs of the repair and replacement of certain
city streets and bridges damaged by floods which reimbursement is to
be made from funds made available by the Federal Government under
Public Law 875 81st Congress .
And it appearing to the Council that the city will be eligible to
receive funds only after a detailed engineering estimate of flood
damages baa been made .
And that payment to the city from Federal funds can be made only
after a final engineering inspection has been made of the disaster
projects , and supporting documentation accepted by the Office of
Civil and Defense Mobilization .
And that the city is without means of making the detailed engineering
inspection, and that the inspection can be made by the Arkansas State
Highway Department .
BE IT RESCLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL CP THE CITY
THAT THE ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT is hereby empowered and
authorized to make such an examination, inspection and compilations
of flood damage repairs to the city streets of this city , which
compilation is to be used by the City in its application for financial
contribution from Federal funds; and that all costs incurred by the
Arkansas State Highway Department in preparing such data shall be
borne by this city and the same shall be spid by the city within
thirty days from date of billing .
