WHEREAS, the City of Batesville, Arkansas, recognizes the need
to insure its continued proper and orderly growth, and
WHEREAS, city planning is recognized as being of primoary im-
portance to the further growth and development of the City of
Batesville, and
WHEREAS the University of Arkansas, as a state agency for
planning assistance, can provide the necessary planning services
and can apply for financial assistance from the Urban Renewal
Administration-Housing and Home Finance Agancy,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1- The City Council of the City of Batesville, Ark.
hereby requests that the University of Arkansas provide planning
services for the following planning program:
The developement of a general comprehensive plan for Batesville
Arkansas, including the updating of the land use plan and major
street plan, the evaluation of the zoning ordinance and the sub-
division regulations with recommended revisions, the development
of adequate administrative procedures to implement zoning and
sub division regulations, the preparation of a community facili-
ties plan and public improvements program, and such other planning
as may be necessary to develop an adequate comprehensive plan.
Section 2 - The City of Batesville will make available upon
the request of the University of Arkansas, a sum not to exceed
$3,000.00 to aid in defraying a portion of the cost of undertaking
the above stated planning program in the event the University' s
application for a federal urban planning grant is approved.
