R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS , adequate municipal services are of the utmost
importance in attracting and serving industrial growth, and
WHEREAS, Arkansas towns and cities are 49th in the
nation in per capita revenues to render municipal services, and
WHEREAS, Arkansas municipal governments are unable to
compete with municipal governments in other states in municipal
services and our municipal governments are the weakest link in
our industrial and economic development programs; and
WHEREAS, the 6-point legislative program of the Arkansas
Municipal League is fair and equitable to all concerned and will
be of great value in improving the financial condition of Arkansas
municipal governments ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE (Town or City)
of Batesville , ARKANSAS:
That the (Town or City) Council of Batele
Arkansas does hereby go on record in full support of the 6-point
Legislative program of the Arkansas Municipal League .
That signed copies of this Resolution be mailed to
Governor Orval Faubus, Senator Robert Harvev , and
Representative Virgil Butler , and to all news media
and to the offices of the Arkansas Municipal League .
