RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS the City of Batesville has determined that the downtown area
is currently declining due to development in outside areas, and
WHEREAS the downtown area has served as a focal point for Independence
County for many years, and
WHEREAS the City has determined that efforts to subside this deteriora-
tion would be in the best interests of the City, and
WHEREAS the Downtown Merchants Association has shown a direct interest
in this project and the initiative to coordinate said project, and
WHEREAS technical assistance is available through the Ozarks Regional
Commission, and
WHEREAS the Downtown Merchants Association has agreed to pay all
costs incurred in this project, and
WHEREAS, the City will not be liable for any costs relating to
the project.
NOW BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Batesville
be authorized to sign the application for technical assistance on behalf
of the Downtown Merchants Association.
