DECEMBER 5, 2000
The Batesville City Council met in special session on December 5, at 5:30
PM at the Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting.
Councilmember Cargill gave the invocation. Upon roll call, all the council
answered present. Also present were the City Clerk and the City Attorney.
Councilmember Insell moved to approve the prepared agenda as
amended. Councilmember Gaither seconded. All voted for.
LEVY TAXES
Councilmember Bone moved to approve the levy of taxes for the year
2000 to be collected in 2001. The levy will include a .1% rollback caused by the
County Wide Reappraisal. The millage rate will be 1.7 Mills for General Fund
and .4 Mills for Fire for a total of 2.1 Mills. Councilmember Cargill seconded and
all voted for.
DISCUSS THE PROPOSED 2001 BUDGET
The council discussed the proposed 2001 budget in detail. The clerk said
she would make a few corrections and get the council an updated budget before
the December 12th meeting.
There being no further business, Councilmember Mitchum moved that the
meeting be adjourned. Councilmember Insell seconded and all voted for.
