A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE TO UTILIZE FEDERAL-AID TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM FUNDS WHEREAS, the City of Batesville understands Federal-aid Transportation Alternatives Program Funds are available at 80% federal participation and 20% local match to develop the Riverside Park to Downtown Multi-Use Trail, and WHEREAS, The City of Batesville understands that Federal-aid Funds are available for this project on a reimbursable basis, requiring work to be accomplished and proof of payment prior to actual monetary reimbursement, and WHEREAS, this project, using federal funding, will be open and available for use by the general public and maintained by the applicant for the life of the project. NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BATESVILLE CITY COUNCIL THAT; SECTION I: The City of Batesville will participate in accordance with its designated responsibility, including maintenance of this project. SECTION II: The Mayor is here by authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of the above stated project. SECTION III: The City of Batesville's City Council pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to initiate action to implement this project. This resolution adopted this day of 2017. Box 2261 Little Rock, AR 72203-2261 Re: City of Batesville, AR Riverside Park Multi-Use Trail Phase 1 2017 TAP Application - Maintenance Dear Mr. Siskowski: Regarding the upkeep and maintenance of the sidewalks proposed under the referenced TAP application, the Batesville Street Department will be responsible maintaining any improvements constructed under this project. The Street Department performs regular maintenance inspections and responds to calls that come in from the public regarding street issues. Should the referenced project be funded, the Street Department will incorporate the improvements into their current schedule and address any maintenance concerns as they arise.
