i AN ORDINANCE SETTING THE ANNUAL SALARY OF BATESVILLE, INDEPENDENCE COUNTY
MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Act 694 of 1981 of the General Assembly of Arkansas increased the
Batesville Municipal Court Judge's annual salary to a sum not less than
$16,000.00 nor more than $181000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Independence County Quorum Court has determined that salary to
be $16,000.00 annually.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: The Batesville Municipal Court Judge shall receive as his annual
salary the sum of $16,000.00, to be paid one-half by the City of Batesville
and one-half by Independence County.
Section 2: That said salary shall be retroactive to March 1, 1981.
Section 3: That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herein are,
hereby repealed.
Section 4: Whereas, said salary and salary limitations are set by the Arkansas
General Assembly and are mandatory upon the city and county governments, and
whereas the General Assembly has determined that the salaries prescribed should
be retroactive, an emergency is declared and this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.
