AN ORDINANCE RAISING WATER RATES
' AND OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the City of Batesville, Arkansas, by and
ii
li through the Batesville Utilities Commission, is charged with
ii the responsibility of providing water for use of its inhabitants;!
and,
WHEREAS, the cost to the City of Batesville of provid-
ing water and maintaining the water system has increased, and
it being necessary to the continued provision of water and
maintenance ofter syste at an increase be made in
water rates;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
BATESVILLE, AKRANSAS:
1. The following monthly rates are hereby fixed as
rates to be charged for water furnished by the City of Batesville
Utilities Department:

(a) For the first 3000 gallons of water

consumption per month - $2.80 (which shall
be the minimum charge). ;
j(b) For the next 97,000 gallons of water
consumption per month - 74� per thousand
gallons.

(c) For the next 1,900,000 gallons of
water consumption per month - 64� per 1000
gallons.

(d) For all water consumption over
2,000,000 gallons per month - 59� per 1000.
2. The provisionsof this ordinance are hereby
declared to be separable and if any provision shall for any i
i
reason to be held illegal or invalid, it shall not affect the
validity of the remainder of the ordinance.

3. All ordinances and resolutions and parts thereof
is
in conflicts herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
