AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING THE BATESVILLE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION,
THE CIVIL, SERVICE SYSTEM IN BATESVILLE, REPEALING CONFLICTING
ORDINANCES ANDfOR PARTS THEREOF, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. Civil Service Commission and Civil Service System abolisoed:
The Civil Service Commission and the Civil Service System
in Batesville, Arkansas are hereby abolished.
2. Conflicting Ordinances and/or parts thereof repealed:
All Ordinances and/or parts of Ordinances in conflict
With this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
3. Emergency.-
Because

Because there is an urgent need for operational change
in the Batesville Police Department and to consolidate
Administration, responsibility and authority in the de-
partment's functioning, an emergency is hereby declared
and this Ordinance being necessary for the public welfare
shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage.
