BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF BATESVILLE, APYANSAS <br />ORD II' T ANCE 140. <br />AN ORDII4ANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF A C17APGE OF <br />TWO DOLLARS PER YEAR. FOP EACH GAS METER IN USE BY A <br />GAS UTILITY, DECLARING Al.; EMERGENCY AND OTHER PURPOSES <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BPTESVILLE, ARKANSAS <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Fee _Levied: From and after the passaae of this ordinance <br />there is hereby levied an annual .f_ranc',ise license upon any <br />natural gas utility a license fee of $2.00 per meter for every <br />meter in use by the utility or its customers as herein after_ <br />defined. <br />2. Number of Meters: The number of meters in use in a given year <br />shall be that number which represents the average number of <br />meters in use in a calendar year. The average number of meters <br />shall be arrived at by adding the number of meters in use in <br />each month of a calendar year and dividing by 12. <br />3. Pro -rate _1975: The francise license fee for 1975 shall be <br />pro -rated for the remaining two months (November -December) of 1975, <br />by taking t1 -P average number of meters in existance in 1974 <br />multiplying by $2.00 and dividincr by six. Credit shall be <br />given for such portion of this additional levy as may have <br />already been paid by such utility earlier in the year because <br />of a previous $1.00 per meter fee. <br />
