AN ORDINA14CE PROVIDING FOR ALL APPOINITiIENTS TO
10ARDS OR COivu'4ISSIONS TO BE iiADE BY A 1 AJORITY
OF THL GOVERNING BODY; DECLARING AW EMERGENICY;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Act No. 266 of 1971 (AS 19-1042 - 1046) provides that
cities of the first class have authority to pass local legislation
in contravention to existing state statutory laws in matters per-
taining to the management of municipal affairs unless specifically
precluded from such action by said Act No. 266 of 1971,
IN10-v'', THERLFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BATESVILLE , ARXANSAS .
Section 1. Hereafter, any vacancy on any Municipal board or
commission of the City of Batesville, Arkansas shall be filled by
a majority vote of the governing body of the City of Batesville,
Arkansas.
Section 2. T1lat the self-perpetuating powers of all Boards
and Commissions in the City of Batesville, Arkansas are hereby
repealed.
