ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE ZONING REGULATIONS
OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS, FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF
BANKS AND SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATIONS
Whereas, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Batesville, Arkansas, pursuant to law, has filed its recom-
mendations with the City Council recommending that the fol-
lowing action be made with reference to the amendment of the
present zoning regulations in force and effect in the City of
Batesville, Arkansas, such recommendation being that Section 2
(B)(4) be amended to allow banks and savings and loan associa-
tions to establish offices and places of business in Highway
Commercial Zoning District C-2; that said proposed change
would be to the best interest of the City of Batesville.
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the City Council of
Batesville, Arkansas: jj
Section 1: That the City Council adopt the report a; feaAA.d-
recoi,mendation of the City Planning Commission as above set
forth and that the revised zoning regulations as in full
force and effect for the City of Batesville, Arkansas, be
and the same hereby are revised and amended to allow banks
and savings and loan associations to establish offices and
places of business in Highway Commercial Zoning District C-2.
Section 2: That the City Clerk shall cause such an
amendment to be noted in the official zoning regulations now
in full force and effect for the City of Batesville, Arkansas.
Section 3: That there is hereby found and declared to be
an immediate need for the reclassification as above set forth
for the benefit of the public health, safety and welfare of
the citizens of the. City of Batesville, Arkansas.
Now, therefore, it is declared that an emergency exists
and that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate pre-
servation of the public health, safety and welfare and shall
be in full force and shall take effect immediately upon and
after its passage.
