05 <br />0 <br />v".► wry <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7�; 4' <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR RETIREMENT OF CITY TREASURERS, <br />PAST & PRESENT, APPROPRIATING MONEY FOR SAME DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY & OTHER PURPOSES <br />/, ..-... <br />WHEREAS the City of Batesville desires to comply with ACT 349 <br />of 1971 regarding retirement of City Treasurers, NOW THEREFORE: <br />Be It Ordained By The City Council of Batesville, Arkansas as <br />follows: <br />SECTION 1: That any person who has served as City <br />Treasurer of Batesville for a period of 20 years who shall retire <br />from office or be succeeded by another City Treasurer, shall upon <br />reaching sixty (60) years of age receive for the remainder of <br />his/her life the retirement pay provided for in SECTION 2 of <br />this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 2: Any City Treasurer who shall retire or be <br />succeeded by another City Treasurer within the provisions of <br />SECTION 1 of this Ordinance shall be paid monthly a sum equal to <br />one-half (z) of the monthly salary received by him/her during the <br />last preceding year of his/her service. Such retirement pay shall <br />be paid by the city from its General Fund Account. <br />SECTION 3: Because there is no retirement provision for <br />City Treasurer in Batesville and in order to encourage competent <br />
