ORDINANCE NO. Y/3
AN ORDINANCE RAISING WATER RATES ON LARGE WATER USERS.
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND OTHER PURPOSES.
Whereas the City of Batesville is losing money on
all water sold to each user of over 400,000 gallons of water
per month, the city council finds it necessary to adjust said
rates:
Now Therefore Be It Ordained By The City Council Of
Batesville, Arkansas, As Follows:
SECTION ONE: Water Rates: The following monthly
rates be and the same hereby are fixed as rates to be charged
for water furnished by the water system, Batesville Utilities
Commission, and the city of Batesville, Arkansas:
For the first 3,000 gallons of water consumption
(or portion thereof) per month $2.40 (which shall
be the minimum charge).
For the next 17,000 gallons of water consumption
per month, $0.60 per thousand gallons.
For the next 80,000 gallons of water consumption
per month, $0.40 per thousand gallons.
For the next 100,000 gallons of water consumption
per month, $0.33 per thousand gallons.
For all monthly water consumption in excess of
200,000 gallons of water per month $0.28 per thousand
gallons.
SECTION TWO: Emergency: Because the city of Batesville
is losing money on all water sold to large water users and it is
necessary to put the water use on a solvent financial basis an
emergency is hereby declared and this ordinance shall be in full
