AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CERTAIN DESCRIBED LANDS
INTO THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS AND
ASSIGNING SA14E INTO WARDS AND PRECINCTS
WHEP.EAS certain .land owners petitioned the Independence County Coutt
for annexation of their lands to the City of Batesville,;
and,
THHEREAS the Independence County Court duly authorized said annexation
to the City of Batesville and entered its order on same
after holding a hearing, and-,
WHEREAS the time for appeal of said order has now elapsed.
Now Therefore Be It Ordained By The City Council of Bate4-
Iville, Arkansas, As Follows.
1. The following described lands be and. the same hereby'
are accented for annex ation and hereby annexed by the City of Gatos-
ville - Arkansas
Beginning at a point on t .e left bank of C,?hite River
which is the Southwest corner of certain property
deeded to A. L. Crouch at deet. record U- 5 , page 533
of the Deed Records of Independence County (which
Point would also be a prolongation of the Last side
of Ramsey Street extended in a straight line to }dhite
River) ; thence run. North along the t,Test line of said.
A, L. Crouch tract to a point where the East line of
R.a.msey Street intersects the South line of Southerlanc
Drive; thence Easterly along the South line of Souther
land Drive to the T^?est right of way line of U. S.
Highway 167, thence North with the T%lest right of way
line of U. S. Highway 167 to a point where the South
right of way line of Chancey Drive would intersect
said point if extended in a straight lines thence
South easterly along, the South right of way lineof
Chaney Drive and extension thereof to a point where
the South right of way line of Tleyers ;-venue if extended
in a straight line would intersect the South right of 4
way line of Chaney Drive; thence East along the South !
right of way line of 1.1eyers Avenue and extension there
of to a point on the East right of way line of the
,.Missouri Pacific Railroad Spur adjacent to the Inter-
national Shoe plant, thence along said Railroad right
of way South 33 degrees East 450 links; thence South
2B2 degrees East, 300 links; thence South 25 3/4 degrees
Last 350 links; thence South 2.52 degrees East 1100
links to slough,- thence up said slough with meanders
thereof East 1075 links to a branch, thence up said
branch North 40 degrees East 1175 links to the line
between Sections 21 and 22 in Township 13 North: Ranee
6 West, (which point is 1075 links South of the corner
to Sections 15, 16, 21 and 22)- thence South on said
line to the Northwest corner of the SZ of NTSh of
Section 22; Township 13 North, Range 6 West� thence
East along the North Line of the S2 of NWI-4 aforesaid, j
to the Northeast corner thereof; thence South to center
of said Section 22 thence East to the NE corner of
the W^,- of SE4 of said Section 22- thence South to
te
the Northwest corner of the SE'y of SE4 of said
Section 22, thence Fast to the Northeast corner
of the SE4 of SE4 of said Section 22; thence due '1
South to the left bank of White River; thence up
the meanders of the left bank of White River to
the POINT OF BEGINNING.
2. Said area is hereby assigned to the following wards
land precincts.
A. All that rortion of the above annexed land
that lies ,-Jest of St. Louis Street and
Highway 167 shall be in t,7ard 1.
IJ. All that portion of tie above annexed land
that lies ;east of ST. Louis Street and
Iligiti ay 167 shall ?_)e in r ard. 4 precinct 413.
