AN ORDINANCE PERMITTING THE CITY OF BATESVILLE TO
CONTRACT WITH ITS EMPLOYEES AND THEIR BUSINESS ASSOCIATES FOR
GOODS AND SERVICES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, from time to time, the City of Batesville requires goods and services to
fulfill its obligations for various projects; and
WHEREAS,from time to time, the City of Batesville finds it necessary to seek goods
and services, often on short notice, that a limited number of persons or entities in our area can
provide within the time period required; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2009-4-1 currently permits the City of Batesville to contract
with its employees and business associates for incidental goods and services not exceeding
$2,000.00 annually; and
• WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council that the Mayor or his designee be
permitted to contract for such goods and services with City employees or their business
associates in a less restrictive and more practical manner.
NOW,THEREFORE be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Batesville,
Arkansas:
Section 1. That the Mayor or his designee is hereby authorized to contract with City
employees or their business associates for goods and services.
Section 2. That this authority is limited to a contractual amount of$5,000.00 for
goods and services per contract.
Section 3. The Mayor or his designee may,however, enter into contracts involving
funds in excess of those addressed in Section 2 herein with the express approval of the City
® Council by majority vote.
Section 4. ORDINANCE NO. 2009-4-1 is hereby repealed.
