AN ORDINANCE NEGULATIIaG THE SPEED OF VEHICLES
AND PRESCRIBING rBNALTr FOR VIOLATION `t 2iBOF.
BE IT ORVAINXD BY THE CITY GOUNCIL OF `ME CITY OF BATNBYILiE,
ARKANSAS
section 1. No, person shell drive a vehicle on any street or
highway within the City of Batesville at a speed greater than
is reasonable and prudent under the conditions than existing.
(here no special hazard exists the following speeds shell
be lawful, but any speed in excess of said limits shall be
prima facie evidence that the speed is not reasonable and prudent
and that it is unlawful:

(a) by -fire miles per hour in any residential district;
(b) Twenty miles per hour in any business district;
( a) fl-t.t miles per hour in any public school none, such
a none being hereby defined as any street or highway
that immediately bounds any public school building.
Section E. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall
be fined in any sum not exceeding One hundred Vollars, or by In-
prisonment for not more than 10 days.
Section ,3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall be in force
and effect from and after passage and publication.
