Section One. Be and it is hereby the express intention of the City of
BAtesville, ,rkensas, to terminste at the expiration of the current
period or tern, towit, on April 1, 1954, its agreement with the South-
western Bell Telephone Company to accept annual cash payments "in lieu
of ell other licenses, charges, fees or impositions (other than the usual,
general, or special ad velorum taxes) which noiv exist or might be imposed
by the City under authority conferred by law"; said agreement having been
entered into under and pursuant to Section Two of Ordinance No. 579 of said
City of Brtesville enected on October 1, 1943. 7.'o such end, and in conform-
ity with provisions of said Section Two of Ordinance Ivo. 579 , the I:;eyor Fnd
City Clerk of said City are hereb, directed to give said Southwestern Bell
Telephone Company the recuired sixty (6") days written notice of such term -
int: tion.
Section Two. 1=11 express or implied provisions of said Section Iwo of
Ordinance No. 5,79 �,re hereby repealed; but, nothing herein contained shall
be construed as affecting any existing rights of said SouthVestern Bell
Telephone Company to maintain a telephone system within said City.
Section 'Three. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and approval.
