"A Resolution of the Batesville City Council Requesting a Meeting <br /> With the Independence County Quorum Court Concerning <br /> Disagreements Between the City and County" <br /> RESOLUTION 2019-0-?-0(a—k <br /> WHEREAS,historically the Batesville City Council has successfully met and worked with the <br /> Independence County Quorum Court to address and resolve differences between the City and <br /> the County, and <br /> WHEREAS, for the last several years the City of Batesville has publicly expressed its <br /> willingness to meet with the County to resolve issues between the City and the County, and <br /> WHEREAS,most recently the Batesville City Attorney sent a letter to the County Attorney to <br /> wit: <br /> "The City Council is in receipt of your letter dated April 26, 2019 in regards to <br /> Batesville's contribution to jail costs. Before any final decision is made by either the Quorum <br /> Court or the City Council on this issue,the City Council requests a meeting of the entirety of <br /> both bodies as well as the County Judge and the Mayor regarding this and other funding issues <br /> at your nearest convenience.We would also like to have the Sheriff, Police Chief, and those <br /> deputies charged with running the jail at this meeting.Thank you for your assistance in this <br /> matter.",and <br /> NOW THEREFORE: <br /> The Batesville City Council continues to request a meeting with the Independence County <br /> Quorum Court to resolve the disagreements between the City and County. <br /> This RESOLUTION adopted this 9th day of July, 2019. <br /> Mayor Ric <br /> -Attest: <br /> Denise Johnston, City Clerk <br />
