AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE CITY OF BATESVILLE MASTER BICYCLE AND
PEDESTRIAN PLAN
WHEREAS, this plan will serve as the Master Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan to be utilized
by the Batesville Planning and Zoning Commission, the City of Batesville Engineer, the City of
Batesville Street Department and the City Council when making pertinent capital improvement
decisions, as well as, planning for the orderly future growth and development within the City of
Batesville; and,
WHEREAS,to provide public notice of the City's intent, a copy of the plan is on file
and available for public review in the Office of the City Engineer
WHEREAS,the City of Batesville Master Bicycle and Pedestrian Steering Committee
and Parks Commission held multiple public meetings to allow for citizen input and comments,
recommending that the Master Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan be forwarded to the City Council for
approval.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE,
ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1: The City of Batesville Bicycle&Pedestrian Draft Master Plan,herein after
known as "Plan", is hereby officially adopted and shall now be included in the City of Batesville
Code of Ordinances. A copy of the Plan is attached hereto as Exhibit"A"and incorporated herein
by reference. This Plan should be referenced when making pertinent capital improvement
decisions, as well as, planning for future growth and development within the City of Batesville.
Section 2: Any amendments to the Plan must be approved by a majority vote of the
City Council.
Section 3. A copy of the Plan shall be available for public viewing in the Office of the
City Engineer.
