Application for Heritage Month Grant Funding
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF
The City of Batesville
TO SUPPORT AND PROMOTE THE UTILIZATION OF STATE FUNDING
WHEREAS Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce has applied for funding through the Department of
Arkansas Heritage to host a festival that focuses on historic foods and foodways within the Batesville
area.
WHEREAS Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Old Independence Regional
Museum, Quapaw Area Council Boy Scouts, University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville,
Main Street Batesville, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Market Fresh Farm, Cherokee Farms, Lyon
College and the Independence County Homemakers Extension office.
WHEREAS Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and its affiliates will provide n educational festival
that will promote the well-being and education of the community as well as promote tourism
throughout the community.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the City of Batesville THAT:
SECTION I. The City of Batesville will promote and support the Batesville Area 'hamber and its partner
organizations in this endeavor.
