A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT
THE CORNER OF MEYERS AND ST. LOUIS STREET IN BATESVILLE
WHEREAS, the City of Batesville desires to expand entertainment, recreation, education,
and economic development activities within the City; and
WHEREAS, the IMPACT Independence County Strategic Plan has identified the desire of
the public to further develop Riverside Park, to improve outdoor recreation and leisure space,
resulting in improved quality of life for residents.
WHEREAS, the properties located at 1817 St. Louis, 1845 St. Louis, and 1350 Myers St. are
contiguous with and crucial to the expansion and beautification of Riverside Park; and
WHEREAS, the City further desires to construct facilities to centralize economic and
community development activities.
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BATESVILLE,ARKANSAS
SECTION 1:That the City of Batesville hereby authorizes the purchase of 1817 St. Louis,
1845 St. Louis, commonly known as Riverside Gardens, and 1350 Myers Street, Batesville,Arkansas,
for the purchase price of$1,600,000,more or less to from the Stroud Family Property,LLC.
PASSED AND APPROVED this Yth day of November, 2022.
