APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Councilmember Hinkle, seconded by Councilmember Roberts to approve the minutes from the May 12,2026 regular called meeting. The motion-passed unanimously. APPROVAL OF AGENDA A motion was made by Councilmember Moody, seconded by Councilmember Fredricks to approve the agenda. The motion passed unanimously. COMMENTS FROM CITIZENS None UNFINISHED BUSINESS None City Council Meeting May 26,2026 Page 2 of 3 NEW BUSINESS A) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH STEEP CREEK, LLC FOR DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS The Mayor called for Mr. Meitzen to read the resolution by title only. Mr. Meitzen read the resolution by title only. City Engineer, Damon Johnson gave a brief overview of other projects Steep Creek has completed in Batesville. Out of the seven bids, Steep Creek came in$100,000.00 under. The FEMA grant will cover 80% of the cost. Councilmember Roberts made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Moody to approve the resolution. The electronic roll call was 7 for, 0 against. The resolution was given#2026-05-02-R. COMMENTS FROM THE MAYOR The Mayor announced the next council meeting is scheduled for June 9, 2026. He informed the council there would be a city handbook update soon and asked for any volunteers to assist in the review process before adding it to the agenda. Any available councilmembers can reach out to him. June 6ffi is the Jeff Owens Memorial Bike Ride. Dates to Remember: • Council Meeting June 9tn • Jeff Owens Memorial Bike Ride June 6th LIAISON REPORTS None COUNCIL COMMENTS Brittany Bennett—Absent Kyle Christopher—He announced the Eagle Mountain Property Association has updated their bill of assurance which now allows semi-annual yard sales. There was lots of traffic in the neighborhood and positive feedback on it. Scott Fredricks—None Julie Hinkle None Paige Hubbard—None Fred Krug—None City Council Meeting may 26,2026 Page 3 of 3 Lackey Moody,Jr.—He requested an upgrade to the TextMyGov app to include emergency weather and public alerts. He thanked Jennifer Corter for her help getting the information together. The upgrade will add an additional cost of$800.00. Information on signing up for TextMyGov and the alert system can be found on the city's website. A motion was made by Councilmember Roberts, seconded by Councilmember Fredricks to add the emergency weather and public alert features to our current package. Robb Roberts—None ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to discuss, Councilmember Fredricks made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Hubbard to adjourn.
