APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Councilmember Hinkle, seconded by Councilmember Moody to approve the minutes from the June 23, 2026 regular called meeting. The motion passed unanimously. APPROVAL OF AGENDA A motion was made by Councilmember Moody, seconded by Councilmember Bennett to approve the amended agenda. The motion passed unanimously. COMMENTS FROM CITIZENS None UNFINISHED BUSINESS None CRY Council Meeting July 14,2026 I'z€;e 2 of 3 NEW BUSINESS A) POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT Chief Scarbrough addressed the council with his monthly report. He informed the council of a grant submission for equipment upgrades. He also discussed a two-year grant for an investigator position to assist with ongoing cases through ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children). B) PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE SHOP REPORT Public Works Department Head, Billy Corter provided the council with a report detailing the operations and staff of the department. Currently they have five employees and provide vehicle maintenance across all departments among other duties. They have an estimated savings of$349,912.00 performing the labor in house over the last three years. He mentioned the recent upgrades to the shop including an 18,000-pound lift,the ongoing improvements to the shop, and the man hours for each department. C) ENGINEER'S REPORT City Engineer, Damon Johnson addressed the council with his monthly report. He provided updates to various projects including the reinstalment of the boat dock at the river. He reported the Parks project is on schedule and progressing well. The Water Treatment Plant project is back on schedule. We should see some new structure going up in the next few months. Water Construction is busy responding to water leaks and there are some issues with the stoplight at Harrison and Saint Louis Streets. They had someone come look at it and that individual identified some possible solutions. The Street Dept is still repairing a culvert on Hawkins St. The SS4A grant is continuing with the addition of 3 lighted pedestrian cross- walks on the greenway trail. It will also include sonar and a camera system. D) RECOGNIZE MS. CHLOE MASSEY WITH THE JEFF OWENS PROJECT The Mayor asked Ms. Chloe Massey to come forward. He stated Ms. Massey began working on this project over a year ago. There were close to 30 riders that signed up for the Jeff Owens Memorial Bike Race. He commended her for her organization and successful implementation of the event. He presented her with a plaque of appreciation for her efforts. E) FINANCIAL REPORT A copy of the June financial report was provided to the council. City Council Meeting .Jule 14,2026 Page 3 of'3 COMMENTS FROM THE MAYOR The Mayor announced the next council meeting is scheduled for July 28, 2026. On July 2nd, 2026 the City of Batesville hosted a 4th of July Block Party for the 250th celebration. He thanked the Public Works, Animal Control, Police and Fire Departments for their assistance in making the event a success. He also thanked the women in the City Administration and Clerk's offices for planning the event. Paige Hubbard—None Fred Krug—He wished the Mayor a Happy Birthday. Lackey Moody,Jr.—None Robb Roberts—He suggested utilizing the department of corrections for tree trimming at Pioneer Cemetery. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to discuss, Councilmember Bennett made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Hubbard to adjourn.
